Power Food Series Eggs Poultry and Other Lean Cuts Part 6

By: James Skylark

Previously, we had heard a lot of myths about eggs. I remembered when I was small my grandparents always used to clear the egg yolks before eating their eggs. True, you could remove some cholesterol from the yolk but more research shows that eating a couple of eggs each single day will not raise your cholesterol levels as is previously believed by your old grannies and mine.

Most of the ?bad? cholesterol is generated by the body instead of dietary cholesterol. This makes it positive for bodybuilders to make use of eggs. We always hear that bodybuilders always eat raw eggs and eat raw chicken meat to boost their levels of required protein in their body. But, does this myth of whether cooking your food decreases your proteins really true? Till an extent, cooking eggs(whether you nuke it, boil it or fry it) does not really decrease the level of protein in the eggs. In fact, you might be at a risk of salmonella poisoning! Always cook your eggs before consuming them. The next time you see someone muscular consuming raw eggs, pray for him that he does not contaminate himself with salmonella poisoning.

It takes more energy from the body to digest protein rather than carbohydrates. In short, high-protein diets induces high metabolism which promotes better weight loss and it shows a better results in your abdominals.

Many people love chicken but I would rather recommend turkey. Turkey is a bird that probably has the highest amount of protein than any other meat. However, turkey is a rare bird and the only opportunity you will ever eat turkey outside on a tight budget is probably at SUBWAY. What my friends and I will do after a gym workout is to grab some cow.It is cheaper and more accessible and it contains creatine. Creatine is the most powerful source of protein which your body uses for weight lifting. Besides, beef contains zinc and iron.

Although beef has many advantages, it contains saturated fats. So the smart choice to choose when you are eating outside at a restaurant is to choose rounds or loins instead of some other fatty cuts. Beef is pretty tasty. So you can arrange your meats to be with something less tastier. My proposition would be a beef salad or a beef whole-meal sandwich. Skip the dressings please.
